Last year’s fourth overall pick, Twins right-hander Kohl Stewart, has been on quite a roll of late at Class A Cedar Rapids.
Heading into Wednesday’s start in the first game of a doubleheader, Stewart had a 0.54 earned run average over his past three starts. In 16 2/3 innings, he had struck out 16, walked five and allowed just nine hits. He has yet to allow a home run in pro ball.
Baseball America ranked Stewart behind only Alex Meyer among all Twins pitching prospects this winter. “All the reports have been really good,” Eric Rasmussen, Twins minor league pitching coordinator, said recently.
