Terry Ryan is on the mend.
The Minnesota Twins general manager, recovering at his Eagan home from Feb. 11 surgery to remove a cancerous lump from his neck, responded to a text message from manager Ron Gardenhire with a phone call around 9 p.m., Central on Wednesday.
“Sounded good, doing well,” Gardenhire said Thursday. “It was nice to hear his voice. Said he’s waiting for (doctors) to tell him what the next step is.”
